Q1: Where is the site and how large is it?

A: The site will comprise several parcels of land near Friston in East Suffolk. We are at an early, pre-design stage and will confirm the exact site area once further scoping work is complete.

Q2: Is this project part of Sea Link?

A: No. Helios Energy Park is a proposed solar project with integrated battery storage. It is an entirely independent project that is being brought forward by solar specialist BNRG, which has been at the forefront of the renewable energy industry for nearly 20 years. BNRG has a long track record of developing, constructing, and operating grid-scale solar PV and battery storage projects in Ireland, Great Britain and around the world.

Sea Link is being brought forward by National Grid.

However, BNRG is working with other developers in the area, including Sea Link, to ensure where possible we co-ordinate all development activities including mitigation measures.  As part of this commitment, we have submitted comments to the Sea Link planning process.

Q3: Where can I see the plans?

A: We don’t have that level of detail available at this stage. We are at an early, pre-design stage in the process and will provide further details in due course. We anticipate being able to publish further information later in 2025.

Q4: Who is BNRG Renewables?

A: BNRG is a specialist solar developer and operator with considerable experience of delivering successful clean energy projects.

We work alongside our development, technology and investment partners to finance, build, manage and own solar farms that today produce more than 150,000 MWh of clean electricity, with more than 5.5 GW of active projects in the development pipeline.

Q5: Will you be consulting with the public?

A: Yes. We will be carrying comprehensive consultation with local stakeholders and the public once we have draft plans to present. Further details will be provided in due course.

At BNRG, partnerships are paramount and we have a strong commitment to working with local stakeholders and communities to bring forward our schemes.

Q6: When will you submit a planning application?

A: We are at an early stage and planning timescales will be confirmed in due course. We anticipate being able to publish further information later in 2025.
